Making a Tank Game: Part 1: Concept and Reference

Our next Assessment requires us to be forming groups of students, between artists and programmers to make a game that's playable at the end of the year. So I've joined a Tank Game, we haven't suggested a title yet or group name, but we'll be on it. I offered to do environments since i feel that's my biggest strength as an artist student, but i felt honored in a way when Zack, our leader, decided it's me who's doing the main playable tank. Putting aside self shoulder pats, we discussed what the tank should look like, what era, what region will its design be based on?

I ended up doing a "mash-up" of mostly the Chieftain and Centurion tanks, taking the bits which look well detailed on both models then putting it onto another tank. Also we changed the shape a fair bit, the front part will stick out more so that the driver can see a little bit of detail. Sketches i have done should hopefully show progress.
